The choice of timber and slate made this ideal, being neutral in colour to act as a backdrop to the emphasise the viberance of the food. 
The timber is pippy oak, with its natural detail and patination adding interest without distraction to a plaque with the restaurant’s name in the centre. 
The oak has been coated with odourless food safe oil and can be washed and reassembled easily.
